Event Report: Passport to Lactacyd

Funny (if embarrassing) admission: The first feminine wash introduced to me years ago was actually Lactacyd. There were all of two variants available then, the pink one or the blue one, and the commercials featured blooming and wilting roses. That was Lactacyd in the 90’s.

Fast forward to 2014, and I found myself in a travel-themed cocktail party at Crowne Plaza celebrating the complete Lactacyd collection and its brand ambassador, the bubbly Anne Curtis. I’m all for discovering and rediscovering the best beauty and skincare products out there, so getting to know the additions to the Lactacyd family since the time I first started using it was a welcome opportunity.

There were five stations in the ballroom divided into popular vacation destinations, namely London, Tokyo, Maldives, Bali, and New York. Each station, representing a variant of Lactacyd feminine wash, contained a different activity and a big LED screen that served as the backdrop for souvenir photos.

London (Lactacyd Protection) showcased a collection of wine and cheeses

Tokyo (Lactacyd Cool & Fresh) had apple-flavored sno cones

New York (Lactacyd All-Day Care) had two popular cultural icons, Lady Liberty and Holly Golightly

Maldives (Lactacyd White Intimate) had face-painting, while Bali (Lactacyd Revitalize) had hand massages

After guests got to mingle and try the different stations, Gelli Victor and Sam YG went onstage to host the program and to introduce the lovely Anne Curtis. The Lactacyd brand ambassador did a little dance, addressed the attendees, and answered a few questions from the press. She went backstage for the rest of the program, but came back out towards the end of the event for photos with fans.

The event gave me quite a fabulous re-introduction to Lactacyd after all these years, and I love how there are now five different types of feminine wash (plus the feminine wipes and the baby wash!) to address any and all intimate area concerns. Hey, if ladies need to buy moisturizers according to their skin types, then I totally understand why there’s also specific care for down there.

There’s Lactacyd Protecting (aka the classic variant) with lactoserum and lactic acid to ward off itching, odor, and irritation. Next up is Lactacyd Cool & Fresh with menthol essences and milk extracts for gals who like it cool and presko. Then there’s Lactacyd Revitalize that aims to promote skin elasticity, firmness, and softness with vitamin E and collagen. For fans of lightening creams and lotions, there’s Lactacyd White Intimate to help lighten the bikini area for all-over fairness. Finally, there’e Lactacyd All-Day Care (formerly known as Lactacyd Fresh Radiance) with natural milk extracts and a light floral scent for everyday cleansing.

I got to take home the whole collection, and I can’t wait to try them all out to find my new favorite. Have you been able to try Lactacyd’s new offerings? What do you think? 🙂
