My weekend is looking to be mellower than expected. I was supposed to meet a bunch of friends for a long-overdue reunion, but half the group suddenly had to postpone (again) due to sudden commitments. I think this is the third postponement? Aaaah, the sad part of being adults. We’re lucky if we’re all under the same roof twice a year. So now I’m staying productive and entertained by getting a lot of writing done while binge-watching The Good Wife. I’m currently on season 2, by the way.
One of today’s writing activities is this blog entry on post-holiday product empties. Click on the product names to read their full reviews.
Burt’s Bees Facial Cleansing Towelettes with White Tea Extract — With cleansing towels, it’s mainly two things to judge by: Moisture and cleansing strength (on non-waterproof makeup). Burt’s Bees has achieved both with no issues. I only have to say that, once opened, the towelettes should be used up within 1-2 months for the product inside to stay moist.
The Body Shop Frosted Cranberry Shimmer Lotion — I can’t stop using shimmery lotions during the -ber months. First, it’s because The Body Shop only releases their shimmery line for the holidays. Second, I feel extra shimmery as well. I’ve always liked the months leading up to the holidays. The enthusiasm is palpable in the Philippines, even when everyone is extra tired.
Laura Mercier Souffle Body Creme in Ambre Vanille — I get so amused by the novelty of this body moisturizer’s custard-like texture. Another scent I love from LM is their Verbena. It’s divine!
Lactacyd White Intimate — By my recollection, this is my third empty mini bottle of White Intimate. I know people advice against a scented feminine wash, but I just love the scent, consistency, and lather. I have a big bottle I’ll be using next.
Human Heart Nature Conditioner — The shampoo was the first to run out. This took a bit longer. While I like the cooling effect, I find their conditioner too firm/waxy to smooth over more hair strands. I feel like the consistency only allows me to cover a small area at a time.
Celeteque Hydration Make-Up Remover Cleansing Facial Wipes — I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: It needs to be wetter! I don’t want to end up removing the makeup because I was scraping at my skin with the towelette’s fibers. I prefer to have my skin soaked with the remover, so I know that the formula is active.
Snoe Whipped Body Frosting — The passion fruit scent is ideal for summer. It’s pretty much the same sweet-tart scent as with the passion fruit hand wash from Daiso. It isn’t sticky, and the pastel purple coloring does make me think of ube ice cream (purple yam), so the ice cream cone pic on the packaging is somewhat on point. I also like that the bottle pump can be locked, making it ideal for travel.
Jergens Hydrating Coconut Moisturizer — I find Jergens products consistently skin-soothing. I’ve tried many variants, and they generally perform well. Yes, I have another bottle already lined up for use. This brand’s a keeper.
