Welcome to The Diary of a Beauty Hoarder. (loljk… No, really…) I have the Innisfree Kale Anti-Oxidant Lotion (estimated PHP 500) here that came with my very first Althea Korea haul. And while it seems that this particular variant is no longer available on Althea, there are still other variants that can be found there.

Off the top of my head, there are two ways to make an FOTD more distinct: Color and shimmer/sparkle/glitter. The former is something that I’ve only just started to tap into this year, while the latter has been a longtime go-to that started way back when I was a teenager.
From experience, I can safely say that shimmer, sparkle, and glitter can be as subtle or as bold as you want it to be, depending on where they are positioned and how they are diffused. So you can imagine the fun I had when Althea Korea gave me the chance to experience glitter galore with their limited edition Glitter Box (PHP 1,370).

Lip balm was my very first beauty product, and I haven’t been without it since the mid-90’s. I may be all about the lipstick now, but I still put on a lip moisturizer every night before bed. And just when I thought that lip butter was the height of sophistication for lip care, the lip oil trend has exploded! There’s even tinted lip oil now. Currently, I am starting with the more basic stuff and using The Saem Eco Soul Lip Oil in Honey (PHP 320) from Althea Korea.

Here’s the deal: I treat makeup and skincare shopping as seriously as I do gadget-shopping. As in, I make these wishlists and canvas prices carefully before making purchases. Most of the time, I am even patient enough to wait for a sale before “pouncing”. So the development of an app that can help me find my next great Kbeauty buy naturally sounds like an excellent idea. And the Althea Korea App, available on both iOS and Android, makes that next shopping session so much easier.

If you had told my high school self that 2016 would see me trying out the full Korean 10-step beauty routine, I wouldn’t have believed it. Heck, if I was told the same thing last year, I wouldn’t have believed it either. Prior to starting the experiment, I had to read up on all the complicated product classifications (lotion, emulsion, essence, etc.) and the proper order of layering them. And I have always been this person who though that a four-step skin regimen was already a full plate.
After that effective routine, I was inclined to try and keep it up as much as I could. My revised skincare essentials now include serum, watery essence/light lotion, and emulsion. I’m currently using It’s Skin Power 10 Formula VC Effector (PHP 390) from Althea Korea.
