Random Personal Update: I pledged 20 books on Good Reads, and I’ve still got 8 books to go before the end of the year. Still going through a lot of YA thrillers, because that’s often the way to get me to finish a book within 10 days. (Meaning, I elect to lose sleep to go through a page-turner.)
Also, re-watching the entire Harry Potter series in time for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. It’s something of a personal tradition that started with every HP book release. Only then, I used to re-read the books. I don’t have the time to do that now, so the condensed 2-hour version should suffice. (BTW, have you guys seen the fanart of the HP-themed shadow palettes? Merlin’s beard, please let them become a reality!)
Buuut, going back to beauty, here are my latest empties. There’s quite a bit of them this time:
Clockwise from Top-Left: Nivea Extra White Firming Body Lotion, The Body Shop Shea Body Butter, Nivea Creme, Zenutrients Rich Cocoa Body Butter
The Philippine election season has heated up in more ways than one! It has been said that the 2016 election has been the most intense in the modern history of the country. So much drama, and it didn’t even end with the debates and the voting. (In case you’re unaware, there was a Twitter hashtag that trended over the last 24 hours. It concerned the candidates and their family members. It may or may not involve controversial NSFW fictional stuff. Oh my.)
But anyway, the mood struck me to do a full face on voting day. Never mind that it was stifling hot and the line was expected to be at least an hour long! lol

The concept of waterproof makeup is a bit funny to me, mostly because I can probably count in one hand how many times I’ve had to ensure that my makeup would stay put in watery situations (external factors as in the case of pool water, sea water, or rain). The rest of the time, it’s about hoping that my makeup could withstand internal factors (i.e. sweat). So really, the claim that would appeal more to me is “sweatproof”, but that doesn’t sound nearly as sexy as waterproof.
Apparently, K-Palette 1 Day Lash Perm Volume Curl Mascara (PHP 895) is waterproof, but it certainly didn’t act like it! But that’s not a bad thing, in my experience.

There are short trips, and there are long trips. This one went well over a week in a place with bright sunshine and chilly wind, but little humidity. Meaning, we’re not in Kansas anymore. In packing for the trip, I went into full-on survivalist mode with my makeup bag. (As survivalist as a beauty junkie could get, I suppose.) As usual, the goal was to be able to create many different looks with as few pieces as I could manage. Challenge accepted.
Are you guilty of purchasing an item you don’t need right this moment? As in beyond hoarding, an item you fully intend to use in the distant future… This was exactly what happened when I got K-Palette 1 Day Tattoo Lasting Eyebrow in 02 Natural Brown almost a year ago. I knew in my heart that I wanted to go significantly lighter with my hair color, so I had to prepare the brows in advance. It just got a delayed, I guess.
