I’m always talking about my personal anti-hoarding campaign, but I feel like I’ve actually made a lot of progress this year. I want to free up the linen closet I’ve been using to hold skincare and bath products to hold… well, towels and linen. Out of the three shelves in that closet, I’ve already been able to reclaim one! Now I’ve got a fresh batch of empties and the wish that another shelf will be good to go by the end of the year.
While the first quarter of 2017 may be done, I am still sorting through my 2016 holiday haul. Naturally, beauty-loving friends went a little Black Friday gaga and pooled our US purchases for shipping to Manila. The first of my buys making a debut for review here is the Intro to Tarte Deluxe Discovery Set (USD 10). *Note that this is a limited edition set for Black Friday that is no longer being sold, but there are resellers still offering this set.
Tarte Intro to Tarte

The first time I was really and truly wowed at the prowess of a mascara was when I got my hands on a tube of Maybelline Volum’ Express The Falsies. I’ve been a Volum’ Express since their first few editions were released, and I always loved how it didn’t take much effort to get noticeable length and volume. Then The Falsies changed the game with unprecedented levels (at the time) of luscious lashes for less, and I went through about 3 repurchases of the beloved stuff.
Now, the beloved line is back at it again with Maybelline The Colossal Big Shot Volum’ Express Waterproof Mascara in Very Black (USD 8.49). (Cue Celine Dion’s It’s All Coming Back to Me Now.)

New Year, New Stash! The holidays may bring about brand new beauty loot, but I’m not forgetting to use up all the stuff I already have. Without further ado, here are my December empties:
The Face Shop Rice Ceramide Toner and Too Cool for School Morocco Ghassoul Cleanser
The year is coming to a close, and I find myself already thinking about my beauty goals for 2017. For 2016, I was all about highlighting/contouring and picking up bronzer for the first time (review later!), but I want to ring in the new year with a renewed dedication to eyes. Admittedly, I have been sticking to bold lips to make a quick job of it, but I want to put more time towards learning new ways to define eyes. And so I set about to start practicing with the help of Eye of Horus Easy on the Eyes Glamourbox (PHP 1,290) and the new Eye of Horus Bio Lash Lift Mascara (PHP 1,150).
