For the Record: Tom Ford Eye Color Quad in Noir Fume

I love luxe beauty as much as the next person, but I have to set rules for not overspending on them. For example, most of the time I only purchase luxury makeup and skincare when there are significant discounts. Take the Tom Ford Eye Color Quad in Noir Fume, which went on sale because it has been discontinued (or is at least sold out ATM). So here’s my second ever Tom Ford Beauty purchase and also my second entry to my For the Record series.

Pony Effect Unlimited Cream Shadow

When Pony Effect launched some years back, I still wasn’t much of a Kbeauty convert then. I witnessed the hype among friends and even remembered entering the Pony beauty boutique while on vacation. Found the products a little pricey tbh, so I wasn’t heavily invested in spending when I wasn’t too familiar with the brand offerings and its founder’s beauty philosophy.

Fast forward to 2020, with the second Korean wave (tsunami?) and Pony Effect officially launching on Shopee with tempting promotions, I wanted a taste. Hello, Pony Effect Unlimited Cream Shadow in Beloved (regular price at PHP811 for 6g).

Bobbi Brown Extra Eye Repair Cream

Before purchasing the Bobbi Brown Extra Eye Repair Cream (regular price at USD 80 / around PHP 4,750 for 15ml) when it went on sale, I asked my beauty writer friends if it was worth it. From that discussion, I walked away thinking that eye care products aren’t exactly the most high-priority skincare investments. (Hey, some folks do just fine with also using their moisturizer as eye cream.) But it’s more like a little self-care luxury, so I went ahead and got it anyway.

Missha 4D Mascara

The first time I was blown away by mascara was when I tried this Japanese brand called Heroine Make. It made me realize how Asian brands have stepped it up with formulas that address Asian lvl lash issues, like high humidity and having corner lashes that tend to press and smudge against the undereye area. So moral lesson: Don’t sleep on Asian mascara brands.

This time, I have a cheap thrill from Korea that yet again exceeds my expectations. Missha 4D Mascara (around PHP 300/7g) is here to play.
