Catrice Cosmetics Healthy Look Matiffying Powder

I have a bunch of products I’ve saved specifically to use for summer. I guess I do end up changing my lineup per season, but it also serves the purpose of helping me rigorously try out items during the times that they are most needed. And to start off my summer lineup is Catrice Cosmetics Healthy Look Matiffying Powder in 010 Luminous Light (PHP 499)

Maybelline Clearsmooth All in One Powder Foundation

Do you have top buys from each beauty brand? It’s when you have re-purchased the same category from a single brand over and over that you already have that instant association in your head. For example, my top buys are: brow products = K-palette; eyeshadow = Tarte/Bobbi Brown; and pressed face powder = Maybelline. I have consistently been buying powder foundations from them as the quality and value for money are spot-on to me. I recently started using Maybelline Clearsmooth All in One Powder Foundation in 02 Nude Beige (refill compact at PHP 169 SRP), and I’ve already purchased my backup during a sale.

Benefit The Porefessional Agent Zero Shine Shine-Vanishing Pro Powder

This is the perfect season to put face powders to the test! Right now, it’s the in-between period at the end of summer and just before the legit rainy season starts. There’s plenty of moisture, heat, and humidity to go around, so it’s time to see which makeup can be considered heavy-duty. Benefit The Porefessional Agent Zero Shine (PHP 1600; USD 30) is on the chopping block today, so let’s see how well it performs.

Laura Mercier Invisible Loose Setting Powder

I am nowhere close to making the move to pro makeup artistry at this point in my life. While I have the interest in cosmetics, the commitment (and budget!) it entails is not something I’m ready for. And I don’t know if I’ll ever be ready, to be honest. But that doesn’t prevent me from choosing products that make me feel a like a pro, even just a little bit. For some reason, that’s the impression I have of loose powder, and I’m writing about Laura Mercier Invisible Loose Setting Powder (USD 38 / PHP 1,750) today, a brand that is popular in the pro beauty world.

Maybelline White Superfresh Powder Foundation

Hands-up, if you’re a sucker for store demos like I am. I easily get wowed by the scientific hoo-ha or impressive showmanship of how demonstrations can prove why a product works effectively. Granted, I don’t buy an unnecessary product, regardless of how amazed I get, but it certainly leaves a good impression on me. If you’ve seen the tester/demo of Maybelline White Superfresh Powder Foundation (refill at PHP 199; full compact with mirror at PHP 299)—the one where you spray water/simulated sweat over Superfresh vs. Brand X—you probably know what I mean.
