January 2019 Empties

Maybe it’s the New Year feels, but I’m motivated to keep my low-buy going into 2019. And it doesn’t hurt that I’m getting some inspiration from Netflix’s Tidying Up With Marie Kondo. I have a long way to go, but this whole concept of keeping things that spark joy is helping bring out my critical side. So instead of more new purchases, I’m likely to be going through the backlog and sharing empties like what I have here:

Watsons Naturals, Good Virtues Co., and Dove

MAC Viva Glam Taraji P Henson Matte Lipstick

I’ve always been excited by each new Viva Glam release from MAC. It’s a great excuse reason to add to my lippie collection while also doing a good deed. But at the same time, I still want to pick out lipsticks that I know would be a flattering choice. From reading the reviews, seeing the swatches, and taking into consideration how flattering fuchsia lipsticks are, I instantly knew that
I just had to have the MAC Viva Glam Taraji P Henson Matte Lipstick (USD 17.50 / PHP 1,050).

MAC 217 Blending Brush

It seems as though my mood as of late leans toward the review of beauty tools rather than makeup. Seems fitting, because I have been using several makeup applicators that I consider to be game-changers. As in, love at first swipe, and they haven’t left my rotation of daily tools ever since their discovery. One of the first rave-worthy tools that I ever invested in, even before the purchase of a limited edition brush set, is the MAC 217 Blending Brush (PHP 1,600 ; USD 25). And I’ll tell you why it has now become one of my absolute favorites.

MAC Nutcracker Sweet Mineralize Brush Kit

Out of all makeup things, it seems like I’ve held out on investing in beauty tools the longest. It primarily has to do with budget and a laziness when it comes to maintaining brushes and sponges. But when I started receiving brushes as gifts (and started buying a few here and there), I was able to get used to clean-ups and decided that it was time to start investing in some premium picks. So I recently splurged on MAC Nutcracker Sweet Mineralize Brush Kit (USD 52.50)
